Getting In Character
A tabletop game where you get in over your head and then your head gets overtaken.
How far does "just going along with it" extend to, anyway?
This story is a submissive-POV second-person interactive work of erotic fiction with anthro/furry characters.
Content warnings: hypnosis.

This was so good. I usually don't like stuff that takes a long time to get to the sexy stuff, but I gave it a chance and it paid off so well! Even the sexy stuff not happening until I'm fully under helped with the idea that this wasn't exactly as explicit of a game that I signed up for. The lack of branching paths contributes to the story, you handled the fuzzy ambigious parts perfectly, and maybe it's because I'm still kind of under but I even want to see what happens next in the official plot of the campaign. I need to figure out if itchio has some sort of "email me when this is updated" mechanics right now.
Big fan.
One question though, around where everything is wrapping up, is the comment about jealousy intentionally referencing the events of the "paw" route even in the "non-paw" route?
oh whoops. messed up some of route separation there -- good catch! i'll get that fixed in the next push.
i can tell that a lot of love has gone into this, from the custom engine to the seamless blend of tabletop and hypno. because i'm a silly goober i came out thinking "wait is that how it was intended to be played" but looking back it's quite clear that the whole thing has been carefully set up that way lol. with games of this kind it's not always easy to tell in advance if hypnosis is a plot device affecting the characters only, or if it's something that's meant to reach out and fuzz up the player behind the keyboard too.
if there's one thing i'd change, it'd be the way it forces you to switch between keyboard and mouse input. it would be nice to just be able to hit enter to proceed on sections which don't have an input box.
enjoyed this a lot!
Oh, wow! I didn't realize this was published a week ago! I only realized this was recent when I saw your inspiration came from Shepherd's Flock.
I greatly enjoyed session 1. I loved the character sheet tracking the status effects as well as the breaks in the fourth wall. Being able to put a custom name and species really made me feel like I was in the story.
I don't know if there is a way to spoil text on Itch, so be aware that the following paragraph will have slight spoilers for the ending of session 1.
Like my character, I really felt like the session was cut off abruptly right before it got to the good part (and I don't mean this in a bad way at all!) It felt like zoning out during a session and coming back to see you missed a good portion of it, which I am guilty of.
Knowing this is a new and recent project, I'll make sure to stay updated! I'm eager to see what Marath plans to do next.
Really loved it and I'm strongly looking forward to part 2!
There's a part early on, when you're at the inn for the first time with the paw scene, where Marath (I think? I got fuzzy and lost track of the characters) calls you a good boy. That scene doesn't respect the gender selection as I has "She/Her, Girl" selected (thankfully, this is the only time i noticed it was wrong).
Nice little story, can't wait for more of it!
fixed! just pushed the new build
This is ART.
I like the idea of a Choose your own Adventure where all the choices are made for you. The fourth wall breking parts were done pretty well, even if it was a little confusing parsing what was "real" and what was the game (but i think thats kind of what you were going for).
